Hi Serban,

>> Thanks for the NIrV info, you made me curious - I never used it =
before...

My wife and I are very impressed by the NIrV. Odd that the same =
organization is responsible for both. We got it to evaluate as a =
possible "Sharing Bible" with nonbelievers. It is certainly good for =
that, but I am startled by how much help it has been in our study of =
Romans. Really.

<Back to business>
I believe the person to convey any information about the Romanian =
Cornilescu edition is Chris Little chrislit@crosswire.org

I hope the amount of time to compile the list of bugs does not mean that =
there are hundreds and hundreds :-(

I have attempted to work on BibleCS (which I believe is the actual, =
official name of the software you refer to). I have requested access to =
a bug list, but have not been able to track such a list down. As you =
might imagine, volunteers are kept very busy here.=20

I would be especially interested in *ANY* comments you might have about =
the BibleCS Search function, not just bugs. Speaking for myself, I am =
impressed by how it works.=20

I have commenced work on a radically simple "front-end" for the Bible =
and hope to get The SWORD Project's permission and blessing to borrow =
it's Search logic. The software's "working-title" is LcdBible. Prior to =
this thread, I have thought about it in terms of being useful to =
missionaries with obsolete computers (Lowest Common Denominator ... =
Pentium 233, 32 meg memory, 1 gig hd, Win98, 800*600 resolution, 28.8 =
modem, broken CD-ROM, etc.)Now that I think about it, I want it to be =
simple enough for a child to use, like the NIrV. Any feedback on whether =
a niche exists that would justify the time and effort?

Perhaps a better "working name" would be LcBible, for Little Children's =
Bible software? "Do It For The Children"

I will convey my thoughts about the TNIV in a private reply.

Sharing the reason for the season,
Lynn

  Dear Lynn,

  God willing,

I will compile a list of bugs I encounter, over time, and send it to =
you. It will take some time, however.

I will send you also the complete text of the Romanian Cornilescu =
edition, and comments about problems.

Thanks for the NIrV info, you made me curious - I never used it =
before...

  God Bless You,

  Serban

  MessageDear Serban,

Thanks again for your kind and encouraging words. Your feedback is =
part of

why we get joy from serving the Lord.

YES, we would appreciate getting a list of the "numerous small bugs" =
in The

  SWORD Project's software.

YES, we would appreciate your comments about problems with our =
Romanian

  Cornilescu bible text.

I've only got a little experience with the TNIV, but my wife and I =
have been

reading the NIrV during our morning devotionals. We alternate between =
the

NIV and the NIrV, which serves almost as a commentary. It has really =
helped

us with Rom 5 ... to view it through the eyes of a faithful child :-) =
We

prefer the NIrV over the GNB for this purpose, but I'm sure that is a

personal preference. (New International Reader's Version --- uses =
vocabulary

suitable to a grad student ... no, I meant to write grade schooler :-)

Sharing the reason for the season,

  Lynn
