As someone else pointed out, when you use the link at 
http://www.crosswire.org/~chrislit/testlinks.html, it works if Sword is 
already running.  If Sword is not running, it will launch Sword but not 
change to the specified verse.  I think this is probably something
related 
to the re-arrangement you needed to do of that code, but since our last 
release had this working, we probably shouldn't put out a broken version

now.
