Hi Troy,
  That eliminated that error (the main directory built just fine), but it
brought me back to the following error (which I had previously), when trying
to compile Diatheke. I've tried to remove *.o from the diatheke directory,
and also tried "make; make clean" there.

  Hmm... I'm starting to think I'm in a non terminating loop statement here.
:-D

  while ($tims_age > 0) {
        $rnd = rnd ($salt);
	print $errormsg[$rnd];
  }

  Now onto the serious stuff, here is the error message again:

> > > ----
> > > gcc   -L../../../lib/  -o diatheke  diatheke.o corediatheke.o -lsword
> > > -lstdc++ -lz

   I know this is probably a stupid question, but am I looking at another
error with libsword.a's unicodertf.o file, or is this something new and
different?

  I'm really sorry to keep posting about this problem...

  Thanks for your help.
