Hey David,
thanks for the <soapbox />. I agree and think this should close this
thread.

But, since you seem to be so xml proper :) ... WE NEED YOUR
(everyone's) FEEDBACK as to what tags should go into an XML markup
standard.

We are meeting in Atlanta this weekend to go over the use cases that
we've recieved thus far-- the stack is short. I'll be checking the
sword list, even while there, so send in your wish lists...

Some examples:

I'd really like to be able to reference the exact source document and
word phrase that my english literal translation used for john 1:1 words
4-6

I'd like to see translator notes when there was a dissagreement on the
translation team.

I'd really like to know if a quote is historical present in the
original.

It would be nice to markup LORD in the OT when YHWH was translated LORD.

There are many of these that most printed literal translations already
do and have in common: italics for words not in the original; LORD (as
stated above); historical present, etc., but let's dream. We can make
the computer work for us a whole lot more than a physical codex. We're
building the next generation Biblical research tools for a society that
will take for granted the ability to know more clearly the original
context and ideas behind The Word of God. Let's bring that to them.

PLEASE spend some time to think about it and write in your ideas.

	-Troy.
