Hy folks,

Several months ago we wondered if the "German Elberfelder 1905"
translation is in the public domain or not. By then I wrote an e-mail
to the "R. Brockhaus Verlag" and asked them about the copyright
status of ELB 1905. I just received the answer. Here's a rough
translation into English:

> The copyright protection of "unrevidierte Elberfelder 1905" expires
> in 2002. I regret to say that we don't give out licences for PD

There seems little doubt that ELB 1905 must remain encrypted. But
what is the final result of Thorsten's trial which had the same aim as
my letter, to get redistro rights for German Bible texts? And now the
original answer in German:
