Hrmmmph. It would be a nuisance to have to use <p></p> inside
every list item. An alternate solution to handling list items
with multiple paragraphs (apparently) would be to use a new
list item of a different type, e.g.
<list>
<item> item 1
<item> item 2 first paragraph
<item type="continue"> item 2 second paragraph.
</list>
It messes with the semantics of "item" a bit though. I'm not sure
which I prefer.

Agreed. See chart about to appear that adds <p> to item.
Question: Then the phrase stuff I suggested below should be found in
<p>, compelling the use of <item><p></p></item> correct?
Just want to make sure we are describing the same behavior.
