I believe JSword currently identifies Android as *nix, which it is. I can add in Android recognition. However, to work out where to install documents to you would need to make a method call on the Android library (which you won't be able to do):
File sdcard = android.os.Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory();
OR for Android 2.2+
File externalFilesDir = android.os.Environment.getExternalFilesDir()
so for the moment all I can think of doing is adding in Android recognition but not actually using it.

When I first started with JSword I just got things working by trial and error (I wasn't familiar with the way Sword apps worked) and have not looked at that part of the code again.

The following 2 lines are a simplified extract from SwordDocumentFacade that satisfies Android and JSword folder expectations:
// the second value below is the one which is used in effectively all circumstances
CWProject.setHome("jsword.home", externalFilesDir /see above/, JSWORD_MANUAL_INSTALL_DIR);

// add manual install dir to this list
SwordBookPath.setAugmentPath(new File[] {JSWORD_MANUAL_INSTALL_DIR});

I would be glad to receive any advice regarding the above because I arrived at this by trial and error and it probably is not optimal.
