<div class="comment-block" style="background-color:#edf5ff;border:1px solid #dddddd;color:#000000;padding:12px;"><p>I believe JSword currently identifies Android as *nix, which it is. I can add in Android recognition. However, to work out where to install documents to you would need to make a method call on the Android library (which you won't be able to do):</p>
<div class="code panel" style="border-width: 1px;"><div class="codeContent panelContent">
<pre class="code-java">File sdcard = android.os.Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory();</pre>
</div></div>
<p>OR for Android 2.2+</p>
<div class="code panel" style="border-width: 1px;"><div class="codeContent panelContent">
<pre class="code-java">File externalFilesDir = android.os.Environment.getExternalFilesDir()</pre>
</div></div>
<p>so for the moment all I can think of doing is adding in Android recognition but not actually using it.</p>
<p>When I first started with JSword I just got things working by trial and error (I wasn't familiar with the way Sword apps worked) and have not looked at that part of the code again.</p>
<p>The following 2 lines are a simplified extract from <a href="https://github.com/mjdenham/and-bible/blob/master/AndBible/src/net/bible/service/sword/SwordDocumentFacade.java">SwordDocumentFacade</a> that satisfies Android and JSword folder expectations:</p>
<div class="code panel" style="border-width: 1px;"><div class="codeContent panelContent">
<pre class="code-java"><span class="code-comment">// the second value below is the one which is used in effectively all circumstances
</span>CWProject.setHome(<span class="code-quote">"jsword.home"</span>, externalFilesDir /*see above*/, JSWORD_MANUAL_INSTALL_DIR);
<span class="code-comment">// add manual install dir to <span class="code-keyword">this</span> list
</span>SwordBookPath.setAugmentPath(<span class="code-keyword">new</span> File[] {JSWORD_MANUAL_INSTALL_DIR});</pre>
</div></div>
<p>I would be glad to receive any advice regarding the above because I arrived at this by trial and error and it probably is not optimal.</p>
