<div><b>Discussion</b></div><div>DM helpfully and in great detail recently clarified on jsword-devel details of the requirements for the use of pre-generated indexes and solved a long term problem I had been experiencing with use of pre-generated JSword indexes in And Bible.</div>
<div><br></div><div>There has also been discussion recently regarding JSword repository structures and http or ftp download which may lead to changes in JSword but these are different issues to the requirement that And Bible has to download indexes rather than create them on a mobile phone.</div>
<div><br></div><div><b>Plan</b></div><div>Hopefully you are happy if I press ahead this week and store And Bible compatible indexes in a repository for And Bible users to download. This would have the same framework as that used by the Sword/PocketSword/clucene index download repository and use the standard JSword index download code.</div>
<div><br></div><div><b>User Interface</b></div><div>When a user requests Search in And Bible they will be prompted to download a Search Index. The option to create a Search Index on the mobile will remain but will become less prominent over forthcoming releases because the index created on the mobile does not have all the features of a downloaded index. Eventually it would be good to download the index immediately after module download because the user will often then be using a wireless connection, but that may be introduced in the future.</div>
