I didn't know this. It should not be the case. I'll look into it.

By the way, there is a new feature in the nightly builds where you can 
set the font for books either on a per language basis or on a per book 
basis. This will override the setting in the module's conf if that is 
present.

Open Tools -> Books and go to Installed Books. Then click on a Language 
or a Book to activate the Font button. Selecting a font for a Language 
is not on a per book type.
