Alt-[key] works based upon what is visible and related to the current 
context.
When you press ALT, the mnemonics are underlined. Pressing the key 
corresponding to the underlined letter will go there. Pressing it again 
(w/o releasing alt) will go to the next that has the same mnemonic. If 
you go to the view menu with ALT-V and then press ALT-M (w/o releasing 
alt) you will get Sub-window mode.

There is a difference between accelerators and mnemonics. Mnemonics are 
underlined and are context sensitive. Accelerators are not context 
sensitive. These are listed after the menu entry. It is important for us 
to make sure that accelerators are unique and present only for actions 
that are needed globally.
