Glad I asked again - I obviously wasn't clear enough earlier. I do know 
about this problem, but I'm not sure of the best way to fix it at the 
moment, becuase a status bar that re-arranges itself to fit everything 
in is a good idea! I think the best solution would be to make the 
borders a feature of the status bar so things could re-arrange in peace 
without it showing.
