If remastering with different options is made trivial, then "special
editions" with localisation for the target user audience becomes
easily doable. Because I have no experience with it, I simply don't
know if this is easy with the current Knoppix-based live CD. However,
I believe in a CDD-based live CD it will be not too hard. Such
localisation might not only include localised texts for all programs
which have them, but also different selections of Sword modules per
locale.

As for DVD vs. CD, in missions we can often reasonably expect machines
to be behind the cutting edge of technology, so don't put all of your
eggs in one basket. A DVD is a fine idea for years down the road,
but CDs will continue to be the only option for many people in the
world for some time to come, so we shouldn't be ready to abandon them
yet.
