</div>Answering this took too long, sorry about that. But the beta3 is out and<br>
it should be easier to compile for everyone. It still needs testing.<br>
<br>
We should gather some guidelines for testing the search feature. Here<br>
are some important:</blockquote><div> </div><div>I tested using 1.7.beta3 that I compiled from the tar.gz2 file off SourceForge on a Toshiba Laptop running Fedora 9. The Sword library is 1.5.11.1.f9 and Clucene 9.20f9.<br>
<br>I tested KJV, JFB, Pilgram, TR, Aleppo and ISBE with all of them setting on the desktop at the same time. <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try at least one module from each module type/category.</blockquote><div>All loaded with all buttons working fine <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try at least one module with non-ascii unicode characters.</blockquote><div>So far no problem using the unicode characters -- I didn't extensively test this though.<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try one Greek and one Hebrew module. (instead of or in addition to the<br>
previous item.)</blockquote><div> </div><div>Both TR and Aleppo worked fine, they indexed and searched fine with all options. <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try searching Strong's numbers (in KJV, some Greek modules).</blockquote><div><br>Worked fine in the KJV and TR<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try searching morphology (KJV, some Greek modules).</blockquote><div><br>In the KJV all these worked fine, except if you entered heading: <blank> or morph: <blank> footnote:<blank> then the whole program crashed. You had to enter something after the ":" or bibletime crashed. <br>
</div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"><br>
- Try searching adjacent Strong's numbers (some words in KJV represent<br>
more than one Greek word).</blockquote><div><br>Matthew 3:1 "days" did a seach on strong:G3588|G2250 with no problem <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try searching for small words: articles, "and", "or"... alone and with<br>
other words.</blockquote><div><br>Couldn't get any of the problems to crash or hang doing this. Tried this in all the English modules. Did some in Greek with the simple words and no problem. I'm ignorant in Hebrew so somebody else has to do it.<br>
</div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"><br>
- Try searching all available tags (also other than Strong's and<br>
morphology: heading, footnote).</blockquote><div><br>Worked fine -- see note on hitting return on <blank> after ":" <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
<br>
- Try "All words", "Some words" and "Full".</blockquote><div><br>Worked fine in all modules<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try selecting a set of modules.</blockquote><div> </div><div>Worked good, I even used different font sets with the various modules -- no crashes <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try the scope/range.</blockquote><div><br>Worked fine, but I didn't test this extensively <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try the Strong's numbers feature in the module list in the results area.</blockquote><div>Worked fine <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
<br>
- Try Analyzing the results and check if it looks correct.</blockquote><div><br>I wasn't using a large scope, but on the smaller scopes it seemed right on.<br><br>Gotta run, lots that needs to be done today.<br><br>Tom Crawford <br>
</div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"><br>
<br>
<br>
But these don't cover all situations so common sense is required. Try to<br>
find new use cases. Test closing and opening the Search dialog in<br>
different situations and in different ways. Test that it saves and<br>
restores the settings correctly.<br>
