Hi,<br>
<br>
Putting myself into the shoes of someone who wants to install BibleTime
and is not very experiences in Linux (like me).<br>
Trying to get BibleTime installed, the first step is to download the
software.<br>
The following instructions are given on:<a
href="http://new.bibletime.info/en/software_installation.html">http://new.bibletime.info/en/software_installation.html</a><br>
<h2 class="title">Download BibleTime</h2>
<p> This is a short list of available download locations. Packages
which are not provided on our SourceForge pages might be outdated.
Please see below for detailed download and installation instructions. </p>
<div class="itemizedlist">
<ul>
<li>
<p>Sourcecode and packages for major Linux distributions can be
downloaded from <a
href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=954"
target="_top">SourceForge</a>.</p>
</li>
</ul>
This link leads to the Sword version (OK) and BTbeta1: Is this the
right one to start?<br>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Debian packages are available for <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/unstable/kde/bibletime" target="_top">Debian
Unstable</a> and <a
href="http://packages.debian.org/stable/x11/bibletime" target="_top">Debian
Stable</a>.</p>
</li>
</ul>
Looking at Debian Unstable is a 'frightening experience' for me, no
idea what to do with this.<br>
Debian Stable: This link does not work (not found)<br>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Gentoo packages are available on <a
href="http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=bibletime"
target="_top">www.gentoo.org</a>.</p>
</li>
</ul>
This gives the version: <a
href="http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?bibletime-1.5.3"
title="2005-11-16 15:05:26">1.5.3</a>. But continuing to follow the
links gets confusing for me.<br>
<ul>
<li>
<p>A FreeBSD application port of BibleTime can be found on <a
href="http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=bibletime&stype=all"
target="_top">www.freebsd.org</a>. </p>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
This link leads to a page with 'Last database update: 2006-04-18
02:30:58 UTC'. I suppose that 1.5.3 was released at the end of 2005.<br>
<br>
-> Make it easier to download 1.5.3 for those who want to use BT
(and not test BT 1.6beta)<br>

<pre wrap="">Hi all,
today I spent some time to clean up the website. The visible changes can be
seen at <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://new.bibletime.info/en/">http://new.bibletime.info/en/</a>. I now like most of the things of the
new look.
I'd love to get some feedback. In you opinion, is the new design better or
worse compared with <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.bibletime.info">www.bibletime.info</a>? Which one is more usable or readable?
What needs to be improved in the new look?
It has been tested in FF 1.5, Operea 8 and Konqueror. I hope I don't have to
test it in IE :)
Kind regards,
Joachim
