I am unable to reproduce this here (debug output of successful indexing
and search for eternal below). I used a Ubuntu 8.04.3 Desktop amd64
virtual machine, enabled the crosswire PPA, updated, installed
bibletime. I then ran rm -rf ~/.bibletime so it started from a clean
configuration, installed ASV, opened the ASV and searched for eternal.
When it told me it needed to create the index I clicked OK.
lsb_release -ircd ; dpkg-query -W bibletime libsword8 libclucene0ldbl
outputs:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS
Release: 8.04
Codename: hardy
bibletime 2.4-1~hardy1
libclucene0ldbl 0.9.20-1
libsword8 1.6.0+dfsg-1~hardy1
