I'm sure they already have their own sets of system in place to make
their packages, but I would also like to point out that CPack, which
Gary and I use for Windows and Mac OS X and which is already included
with CMake distributions has the power to make DEB and RPM files.
Personally I didn't even realize we had packagers for anything outside
of the DEB orbit.
I really know next to nothing about what is required of the packagers
to get into any of those distributions, but if using CPack to build on
those systems is useful to them, I'd be happy to work with them on
getting a condition setup in our system. It could definitely give
security to our packaging solutions on those distributions if the
current people are unable to continue in the future.
