Message:
This seems to be outdated. Please add another comment if the problem
persists with a recent BibleTime (2.3.3+) and Sword (1.6.0+) and clucene.
Sorry! We need to be able to reproduce to help.

Regards, Martin

Message:
The relevant code is in cswordmoduleinfo.cpp in void
CSwordModuleInfo::buildIndex(). It's not easy to create a simple case,
though, because it depends heavily on other code and the sword library. Or
at least it looks like so. I could play with this a bit if I just got
installing (=cmake) to work.

Message:
clucene 0.9.21 came out late in August. I have compiled / installed
clucene-core-0.9.21 / created a symlink in /usr/lib so bibletime can find
it. Still getting an abend when creating an index (don't have details i.e.
from gdb yet).

I need some help here. the clucene developer has requested a test case.
I'm not a c++ programmer and am not sure how to properly do this.

Thanks,

JohnI

No change yet in the clucene tracker list (ref. request # 1890374). Any
new insights on this?

BTW there is activity on their developer mailing list
:http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=clucene-developers

In the mean time, I'm able to work with clucene 0.9.20-2 without problems
(searches work), using the index built under 0.9.16a. (Of course, I can't
build a new index in that setup - i.e. for a different translation)

yes I can submit this to clucene but I feel it's difficult to get a
response from them, e.g. my request to them over a year ago:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1603924&group_id=80013&atid=558446

In fact no bug report open there since 2007-03-30 has been closed. (as
with many open source projects, it could just be a time/resource issue. It
don't blame them for it. ;-)

BTW I have clucene-debuginfo-0.9.20-2.i386.rpm which (if I figure out how
to use it) may be helpful...

Hi. The problem may be solved for you, but not for others. Can I ask you
to work with the clucene people, tell them about the bug and help them
reproduce it so they can fix this bug in clucene?

Thanks in advance.

Ok have now reinstalled clucene-core-0.9.16a. Nothing else changed. Search
indexing works fine. Searching works. Problem solved (DV)

I'll try an earlier version of clucene. Is tehre a minimum version of
clucene that works with bibletime-1.6.5?

& Per mgruner's advice am reposting similar crash here (more detail at
closed tracker item #1882104)

Bibletime is crashing with a signal 11 or signal 6 when attempting to
create search indices for the first time (11 the first time then signal 6
any subsequent tries thereafter). In the case of signal 6 it happens after
the create index progress bar is at 99%.

Running on : Centos 5.1
kernel 2.6.18-53.1.6.el
(kde rpm) kdebase-3.5.4-15.el5.centos.1

Program versions:
bibletime-1.6.5-1.rhel5
clucene-core-0.9.20-2 (rebuilt from source rpm)
sword-1.5.9-2.rhel5
(see
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1882104&group_id=954&atid=100954)

A good guess is that this is the reason:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1794511&group_id=80013&atid=558446.
Please try to make clucene fix this problem, or find a workaround for us.
We actually set an empty stop word list to index everything. --mgruner

Hi. It seems there is a problem with clucene 0.9.20 (and I guess it is a
problem in clucene and not BibleTime). Can you investigate this please? Try
to use another version of clucene to see if the error is still there. Keep
us informed, please. --mg
