I just tried it on my quad core computer and I do see the problem there. 
The problem I fixed is that it was not comparing that the item under the 
cursor was the same at the beginning and end of the timeout.  After that 
change I could not reproduce the problem on my single core laptop.

I will work on it today. I am sure that since I can reproduce the 
problem, I will be able to fix it.
