Summary: Display mangled when verse numbers turned off

Initial Comment:
1. Using Blue.tmpl, when verse numbers are turned off, the ESV shows empty [] for cross references.
2. Using Crazy.tmpl, when verse numbers are turned off, BibleTime drops entire phrases from the display, shows empty {} for cross references, and has other general display issues. This is shown in the attached screenshot.

To reproduce, simply choose one of the above templates in Settings, open the ESV, then uncheck "Show Verse Numbers" from the toolbar.

I suppose I should have mentioned, I'm using BT 2.0 that I built myself,
sword 1.6.0 (from the PPA), and I'm on Ubuntu JJ 64-bit.
