The latter doesn't have the functions mentioned in the errors.

We have had intense discussion about this. I would be ready to move to
the SWORD engine, but Martin doesn't want to do that.

See also if you have compiled it with some option which leaves out the
deprecated functions. Those mentioned in errors seem to be marked
as deprecated in my local clucene header file and in the document behind
one of the links. We should get rid of them in our code.
