Summary: Rendering problems with different font in WLC
Initial Comment:
When checking the bug #1794908 I noticed other oddities with WLC module (maybe also other modules, I have not checked) and fonts. Changing the font affects the footnote marks. If I select a font which apparently does not have Hebrew characters the footnote marks (for example in Genesis 1) are rendered correctly (*). If I change the font to something which has Hebrew characters the footnote marks are rendered )*(. There is some Hebrew text besides the footnote which is rendered always with the same font (the default font of the renderer?) regardless of the custom font.

Yes, please send a screenshot. Did you try the font "Cardo"? If not,
please do so -- it is available for free at
http://scholarsfonts.net/cardofnt.html.

I am having a similar problem with the font rendering on Mandriva 2008,
BibleTime 1.6.5, WLC ver 1.3, KDE 3.5.7. The Hebrew text will not render a
Yod; it just shows a big square box where the Yod should be. Since the
default font has this problem, I've tried selecting a custom font in the
BibleTime settings with no luck. Actually, I've tried everything from
TekniaHebrew to Century Schoolbook and the font doesn't change at all.
I also have another issue (perhaps related) that the Hebrew text starts
off the right side of the screen so the beginning of every verse is not
viewable.
I can send a screen shot if that helps.
Thank you

I cannot reproduce this, maybe it was fixed by the HTML changes I made
recently. Can you please re-check this bug, if it still occurs for you? For
me it works fine with the font Cardo, for example. --mg
