I have commited threaded install in the new module manager. Only the
backend is functioning right now: the progress can be seen only in the
console output and UI is not signalled so you have to restart to see the
changes.
This is not allowing real concurrent UI. The progress dialog is modal.
It depends on the network connections of the user and of the download
source whether this gives time advance or not. With fast end user
connection downloading from several sources should be faster (actually
downloading from several sources at the same time was not possible
previously). I don't know if any of our download sources give advance
for parallel downloads. But seeing the progress for each module
individually is an enhancement, anyways, and so is ability to cancel
them individually (when it's implemented).
This is new code, new feature and new technology so comments and
opinions are more than welcome.
The new module manager can be tested with command line option:
"bibletime --debug --test modulemanager".
