Summary: Show Footnotes not in Display Settings
Initial Comment:
In BibleTime v1.5.2, I couldn't find the Show/hide
footnotes in the display setting. This is function is
good when you want to copy and paste the text to a text
editor so you don't get all the astericks.

I will agree it would be a useful feature, however, I think it would be
low priority as the footnote marker is pretty obvious and in most every
display template should be obvious from verse numbers. Also, you can't get
rid of the markers in print bibles either.

The request is reasonable. We can add it to KDE4port todo list. Maybe
someone remembers it later :)

This is still true in 1.6.2. Footnote text appears as canonical which is
confusing, especially when the footnote contains only text.
Cross-references are easy enough to distinguish because they are shown as
links and they can be removed. Footnotes should be able to be removed.

Something I've noticed, if you right click on the verse #
and select copy ref w/ text then you get the verse sans
notes, but if you right click and just say copy text of
verse you get both the verse and the notes inlined

I would say that we should put that there. There are times
where you don't want to see the footnote markers. For
instance, in the upcoming NET bible you may be using
NETText module because you don't want to use the footnotes
you just want to read the text, and the footnote markers
get in the way.
