[bt-devel] coordinating the porting work

Yeah, I'm working on frontend/mainindex/*. I'm not stuck; the problem
is just making time to work on it. I guess I could commit some changes
now, but those files are definitely not done, and I may change some of
what I've done (I'm still figuring things out).
