That's because gentoo is a compile based distro, everything is downloaded from 
source and compiled, though not by hand. Gentoo users would just have to 
emerge bibletime, and it'll pull it in. Gentoo users are generally not the 
most n00b ever so the link to the place in the package list shows them what 
they need to know.
