I agree with you ! For me, there are two different things: the
"developpement/debug/power user" version (stable or unstable, but packaged as
source) and the "end user" version (packaged as binary). I really consider
that "./configure; make; make install" is very straighforward for the source
version. For the "end user" version, downloading a RPM an clicking on it in
KDE or anything like that seems much easier than any Windows installer !
Selecting "BibleTime" in Mandrake package manager and clicking on "install"
is also much simpler than "setup.exe; next; next;...."
In my mind, the binary versions need to receive great care, links to the
appropriate sword binaries need to be very visible, as well as a GUI
installer for Sword modules.
Well, the binaries are here, Sword too, the module installer seem to have been
added... (maybe more comments explaining that Sword needs to be installed
with BibleTime on the SourceForge download page could be helpfull). So, I
really think this is ok, the "installer" thing beeing a foreign import that
has no role to play in Linux (as long as the binary packages are well
maintained).
