Greetings Andrew
I am a 47 year old mechanical engineer at Northrup Grumman - Newport
News (used to be Newport News Shipbuilding http://www.nns.com, until the
company was purchased last year). My home is in Hampton Virginia.
I am a active member of a local church that actively supports a number
of gospel spreading projects outside the US http://www.youthaflame.org
and http://www.ncchampton.com. We are not a particularly large church,
but this mission is the one given to us, and the Lord enables us to be
active in this field. (I am not posting these links as a request for
funds. It is better if you are encouraged to be a part of the great
commission yourself. I have found that there are many ways to do this,
and your local church should always be part of the equation.)
My involvement in BibleTime started about two years ago, when like you I
was stumbling around the internet, and found the BibleTime webpage. It
struck me that I might be able to help as most of the programmers at the
time are German but all of the documentation is drafted in english
first. Since that time KDE has moved the standard method of maintaining
documentation from html to DocbookXML and maintenance of translations to
portable object files. I have learned a great deal about Docbook text
composition as a result.
Actually Jochim was not kidding about the lifelong commitment, not to
BibleTime, but to Our Redeemer. I just spent 5 days in the hospital
after suffering a heart attack last sunday morning. I am home now, and
by the Lords grace expect to fully recover. We never know what will be
placed in frount of us, so our only method of of preparing for these
things is our commitment to Christ.

II Chronicles 7:14 (The Webster Bible)
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Luther Bible
oraren, y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos;
entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su
tierra.
