This is kind of wierd but that was the problem I was using system++.
I did a litle but of testing and all of the qt styles can be used and most of 
the kde styles. Here is a list.

kde-step
kde-default
kde-sgi(does not work)

qt-cde
qt-motif
qt-motif plus
qt-platnum
qt-sgi
qt-windows
