I'm not sure. All I do know is that the newer versions of mandrake 
redhat and caldera use /usr/share for these kind of files. I'm not sure 
if this is a result of the linux standards base or not but they all seam 
to be using similar directory structures. There are some diferences but 
not as many as there used to be.
