[bd-users] Basic,simple, complete instructions

Hi:

New to the list, familiar with Linux. Trying for days to install a Bible
program in Ubuntu. So far no Bible program will install or work.

1. "You need this"
2. "You need that"
3. "Now you need this"
4. "This and that are not installed or not working."

I have tried :
JSword install
BibleDesktop install
Installing things from the Crosswire web site

Is there a complete set of simple instructions,with error messages
explained, start to finish, including dependencies online?

Frustrated, clueless.
